Heal yourself with Chinese medicine!

You’ve no doubt heard about traditional Chinese medicine, with its emphasis on natural herbs. But have you ever wondered if its time-honored remedies really work? The answer is yes, according to results from modern research labs! Read on to discover how these science-backed Eastern cures can make you healthier and happier today.

Fight allergies with reishi!
Fall allergies getting you down? This medicinal mushroom contains a magical ingredient, which acts like an antihistamine to block allergic responses before they start. Reishi also has anti-inflammatory compounds that reduce swelling.
Proof it works: One study found it acts like hydrocortisone to soothe inflammation, but without negative side effects.

Boost energy with cordyceps!
Tired and dragging? This Chinese mushroom extract to the rescue! It’s proven to boost energy production inside cells by 18% Results: You’ll have more oomph, so getting through even the most demanding day will be easier. Bonus: In China, it’s also considered an aphrodisiac!
Proof it works: A study in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reveals it increases endurance of athletes by 10%, leading them to work out longer and faster without any extra effort. Another study found condyceps doubles oxygen intake without just sex weeks, helping your whole bodywork more efficiently, boosting energy and increasing blood flow to muscles!

Relax with jujube!
Stressed out, can’t seep, but don’t want to take an Rx? Try jujube! This ancient fruit has long been used in Chine as a natural sedative, and modern-day studies identify why it works: It’s active ingredients, called jujubosides, calm the brain regions responsible for stress.

Easy PMS-and menopause-symptoms with Dong Quai!
It’s no surprise that this “empress of herbs” is so powerful against menstrual cramps: its anti-inflammatory effects are nearly twice as strong as good old aspirin! Plus, it mimics female hormones like estrogen in the body. No wonder it’s used in China as natural hormone replacement therapy to relieve menopausal symptoms like night sweats, dryness and low libido.
Proof it works: Studies in China confirm Dong Quai can help reduce symptoms like hot flashes and sleep disturbances in menopausal women by more than 25% and may calm hormonal irritability as effectively as Valium!

Dodge colds and flu with astragalus!
Widely prescribed in Chinese medicine, “astragalus improves circulation, bolsters the immune system and helps the body become more resistant to pathogens,” says Brigitte Mars, author of The Desktop Guide to Herbal Medicine. It’s such a powerful immunity booster; the National Cancer Institute even lists it as an adjunct therapy to traditional treatments!
Proof it works: In one study, the survival rates of Chinese cancer patients given astragalus along with their regular treatment jumped an impressive 43%!

Happiness

Hey you. Yes you, stop being unhappy with yourself, you are perfect. Stop wishing you looked like someone else or wishing people liked you as much as they like someone else. Stop trying to get attention from those who hurt you. Stop hating your body, your face, your personality, your quirks, love them. Without those things you wouldn't be you, and why would you want to be anyone else? Be confident with who you are, SMILE, it'll draw people in. If anyone hates on you because you are happy with yourself then stick up your middle finger in the air and say screw it. My happiness will not depend on others anymore. I'm happy because I love who I am, I love my flaws, I love my imperfections. They make me me and "me" is pretty amazing.

Getting over a break up

Hey lovelies,
I hope you're having a wonderful day, and I hope you are really happy today.
I wanted to reach out to the people that aren't so happy right now and are going through a break up.
I came up with a couple of things that helped me while getting over a break up and I hope this helps you.

1. Time
Everyone will be telling you that time will heal everything and it really is true it really does take a really long time to get over somebody. You can't expect to take someone out of your life and be ok the next day.

2. Let it go.
Let go of the fact that you are apart now, let go of all the tears, let go of the hold that you once had on them.

3. Avoid Contact with the ex
Avoid any calling, texting, tweeting, facebooking even looking at their pictures. You need to avoid them even for a little while just to get over them.

4. Stay Busy.
You need to find things that make you happy, whether it's painting, singing, having a pet what ever it is you need to be busy. Get a part time job or hang out with friends.

5. Don't rethink your decision.
You need to have confidence in your decision, you really need to think that everything happened for a reason.

6. Remove Memory Triggers.
Put everything that reminds you of them in a box and put it far away!

LET GO!!

Saving your Face

Hey lovelies,

I hope your having a wonderful day, I'm in a big blogging mood. I've been looking through blogs today and watching gossip girl ( I love Blair's fashion! Can I have her closet for like a week? please) Back to the point all the girls on the show have amazing make up as well and it's very important to take nice skin in order for the make up to go on nicely. Here are some important tips and tricks that have worked for me in the past.

1. Sleep
Sleeping is the easiest and the most important thing that you can do. Even if you use the best product sleeping really matters the most. If you don't believe it, try not sleeping for a couple of days and beautiful bags will appear.

2. Water
It's very important to moisturize, drinking water is so important for your body and skin. Drink 8 glasses of water a day, wash your face 2 times a day and hydrate your face as needed. You can spray water on your face not only is it refreshing but it's so good for you too.

3. Sun screen
Wrinkles, sunburn, spots, cancer... Need I go on?

4. Don't smoke.
Not only does it smell like hell, ruins your lungs and looks very bad on a girl. It also clogs your pores and causes wrinkles.

5. Take it off.
It's very important to take your make up off at night, really clean your skin from all the make up and pollution. And it looks disgusting on pillows.

I hope this helps some of you,
Until next time

Myth or Fact?

Hey everyone, hope you're having a fabulous summer. I was reading a magazine this week and came across this interesting article that I wanted to share with you.

Myth or Fact?

1. Reading in low light damages vision.
  • Myth
  • Fact
2. Spicy Foods cause heartburn.
  • Myth
  • Fact
3. Frozen fruit and veggies are often as nutritious as fresh ones.
  • Myth

4. Individuals who often multitask are more productive.
  • Myth

5. Chocolate is good for you.
  • Myth

6. When you stop exercising muscle often turns to fat.
  • Myth
  • Fact
7. A cut will heal faster if you uncover it at night.
  • Myth
  • Fact
8.  Morning workouts elevate your metabolism more than evening workouts.
  • Myth
  • Fact
1. Reading in low light damages vision. MYTH
It may cause eye strain which may lead to your eyes becoming red and irritated, but it will not damage vision. Eyestrain will usually correct itself in 20 to 30 minutes if you stop reading or watching tv.

2. Spicy foods cause heartburn. MYTH
Smoking, alcohol, eating beyond the point of being full, certain medication and sleeping in certain positions are much more likely to cause heartburn.

3. Frozen fruit and veggies are often as nutritious as fresh ones. FACT
What people consider to be "fresh" produce has actually travelled hundreds or even thousands of miles to get to their grocery store and has likely sat in the storerooms and on grocery store shelves for a number of days or weeks. Frozen fruits and veggies are often frozen soon after being harvested, thus locking in most of the produce's nutrients.

4. Individuals who often multitask are more productive. MYTH
Turns out that when we try to do two things at once we are less productive than if we would do each task individually.

5. Chocolate is good for you. FACT
Are you a chocolate lover like me? Do you sometimes feel guilty for indulging yourself? Well, researchers are now telling us that chocolate has actually positive health benefits. Some of those benefits include reducing our risk for heart attacks, strokes, and even cancer. It contains compounds called flavonoids which have strong antioxidant properties and help improve health. Chocolate does contain a fair number of calories so eat it in moderation just one to two ounces a day should do.

6. When you stop exercising muscle often turns to fat. MYTH
Fat and muscle are two separate tissues and one never turns into the other.

7. A cut will heal faster if you uncover it at night. MYTH
We all had a fair share of cuts and scrapes during the years and parents always say to take the bandage off when going to bed to let it "dry up" or "air out". Turns out that keepings your cuts and scrapes covered will actually increase healing rates. usually two to four days faster. Wounds that go uncovered and dry out tend to form hard scabs. which will slow healing. Keeping a wound covered and moist will promote new cell growth and healing.

8.  Morning workouts elevate your metabolism more than evening workouts. MYTH
If you set your alarm clock for 5:00am to get your daily workout in thinking it will result in you burning more calories throughout the day, feel free to hit the snooze button and stay in bed. Burning 500 calories from a workout at 5:00am is exactly the same as burning 500 calories at 5:00pm. SO if you prefer to exercise in the evening, feel free to stick to it.

Beauty Bytes

Hey lovely,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful time and enjoying the beautiful weather.
Let me know what you've been doing with your summer vacation.
I wanted to share some mistakes that people make when they put on make up.
I am by no means an expert but these are things that I've seen girls do plenty of times.

1. Less is more
A lot of people think that they have to put so much make up to look perfect, a ton of foundation or a ton of eyeshadow. This is by no means true, always start with the LEAST AMOUNT possible and you can always add little by little. It only takes a little bit of make up to enhance real beauty.

2. There are no rules.
With makeup there is no set magic formula, there is no set rules. You should experiment with make up on your own terms, you should get the feel for what you like and what looks good on you.

3. Make up is not cosmetic surgery.
You should think of make up as just a way to enhance your real beauty not to give you a huge difference on your face. When you put too much make up on to make it look like cosmetic surgery when you don't even look like yourself, it always looks obvious.

4. BLEND, BLEND, BLEND
I can't stress this enough how many girls I've seen that don't blend their make up. It can be anything from foundation to eyeshadow to bronzer. You should always blend!!! Lines between colours should be invisible. Always make sure to blend your foundation into your neck line and into your hair line.

5. Make up washes off with soap and water.
Make up is not permanent, it can be washes off very easily. It's not surgery that you can't fix you can always wash it off and start all over again. Try new things, try things that you think look good.

6. You know your face best.
You spend the most time with your face, you are the one that tries things on it therefore you know your face better than anyone else does. You know what feels right and good on your skin, do things that feel right for you not what other people think you should have on. If you feel like wearing a bright lip because you love it then do it no matter what other people think.

7. Re-evaluate what you're wearing.
Listen to your head and your skin, if you think that something doesn't look good then wash it off or fix it up. If your skin is not taking the product well no matter how much you spend on it or how amazing the reviews are, just stop using it! Not every product fits every single face. If something doesn't feel right, dont use it.

I hope this helps some of you, if you have any other questions or comments please leave them below.
Until next time,,,,

xoxo Kristina

Maybelline Falsies "Flared"

Hey everyone,
I hope you're enjoying the hot weather and getting out there doing lots of fun things.
I've also been enjoying the sun a little too much, i burned a couple of times already. It's been so hot outside that it's pretty hard to get the energy to do anything but just reading books and soaking up the sun.

The only new make up product that I bought recently is the Maybelline Falsies Flared.
I saw a couple of new ads on it in a few different magazines and to be honest I didn't believe a word they said. It sounded too good to be true, they claim that your lashes will look like fake eyelashes with longer lashed at the ends.
Since I really love the Maybelline Falsies original I thought I would give this a go and it pleasantly surprised me. The formula is very nice just like the original but the ends do look longer. Once again maybe it's our imagination hoping that it works and we just put more mascara at the ends but no word of a lie it does look fuller at the ends.
Of course it doesn't look like the add where they put a huge strip of lashes on, but it does give your natural lashes a very nice and full look.
If you are not into a full look I wouldn't recommend this because it really doesn't look natural. I've had so many complements on my eyelashes, people have been asking me if I wear fake eyelashes everywhere I go.
In short, I really love the Maybelline Falsies Flare, in my opinion it really works and I love the look that it gives me. If you have any other questions or comments please leave them below.

Until next time,

I didn't want to go out today but my hair looked way too good.

Unlock your creativity

Hey everyone,
I hope the weather was good for you and you had a lovely day. Ever since I've started taking Graphic Design a lot of my creativity came out and it occurred to me that I really love being creative. I really think that everyone has a creative side, no matter what you love to do there is a creative side to everything. Some people love to write, some like to take pictures, paint, sing anything that it is there is a creative side to everything. I wanted to share some things that you can do to unlock your creativity.

  • Rise and write - To help clear your mind of anything that can be disturbing you or making you upset. When you feel like this just go and do something that you enjoy doing and get creative. Write your feelings down or the situation that happened and it really does help. As soon as you get it out of your head it's like sharing it with somebody and it makes you feel better.
  • Put it 20 minutes daily - That's a really short time every day to get your creativity flowing. Once you get into the habit of taking 20 minutes a day it will become a routine and you will devote more and more time to it daily.
  • Buddy up - When you share your thoughts with other people it makes it real. They can encourage you and have faith in your powers which always helps you.
  • Make an "artist date" - Once in a while just take a day alone ( or an afternoon) and spend it doing things you love. When you do it alone, you can hear your inner voice and you can get more creative that way.
Anything you do, just take little steps to being more creative everyday and after a couple of times you will enjoy it so much that you will want to do it all the time. I just wanted to share a few creative pictures that I took recently I hope you guys enjoy them.
Until next time,,,,

Spoon & Fork

Hello everyone,
I went to a restaurant that recently opened up in Vaughan called Spoon & Fork that has japanese and thai cuisine. The decor in this place is absolutely beautiful.

I was sold on decor alone, it was very modern with very nice wallpaper and big comfy chairs. I loved the chairs so much I want some in my house now. The food at this place was surprisingly good as well. You can either order from the menu individually or do a all you can eat menu which we choose to do to try some new things. I tried their miso soup, margo salad, salmon and pad thai. The main course was very good, I was very surprised by how much I liked the food. The service at spoon & fork was very good as well, it wasn't overwhelming but you could still get service when you needed it. I think this might be my favourite place in Vaughan now.
Until next time,,,,

One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating

Teaopia - Pina Colada

Hey everyone,
Spring has finally arrived and what's a better way than to celebrate with a Pina Colada. I'm a huge fan of tea so i visit Teaopia very often. In my opinion it's one thing to see the tea in store and smell it but its very different when you bring it home and actually brew it yourself. Therefore I wanted to share for thoughts of my own on a tea that I purchased recently.

Pina Colada
This tea has a mixture of hibiscus, apple pieces, rose-hip peel, candied pineapple and coconut flakes. The smell of this tea is wonderful, it really smells like pina colada especially when you brew it.

The taste is a little sour and has a coconut after taste. (Keep in mind I don't bring tea with sugar) At first the taste is a little weird because I'm used to having pina colada cold and icy. After having my first cup of this tea I was a little turned off but I was craving it the next day. Now that it's getting warm out this drink is actually very refreshing. I like the idea of having a pina colada without any effort of making it and having all the ingredients for it. I think its an interesting idea of having the best of both worlds.

Also I think tea from teaopia or loose tea in general is beautiful and I love the process of brewing this fresh tea.
If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer. I hope you enjoyed this.
Until next time,

If you are cold, tea will warm you.  If you are too heated, it will cool you.  If you are depressed, it will cheer you.  If you are excited, it will calm you.

Mother's Day Ideas

Hi lovelies,
Now that spring is here, and hopefully the beautiful weather, it's time for us to celebrate this lovely mother's day. Since mothers day is on a sunday it will be super easy for everybody to give their mom lots of attention. I wanted to share for of my gift ideas that I thought would be nice to do for mothers day.

  • Flowers - Every girl in my opinion would love to receive flowers no matter what holiday or occasion it is. Also flowers would bring so much life to any room, I think they really brighten up the space and everyones mood.
  • Breakfast in bed - Moms work so hard at doing everything for us so it would be really nice to treat them to something really special like breakfast in bed. Who wouldn't want to wake up to some yummy smelling food first thing in the morning? I think the nicest smell to wake up to is baking.
  • Taking her out - Whether you want to take her to see a movie, out to lunch, or just walking in the park. I think its really nice to give your mom a whole day just to relax and not have to worry about anything. Get her mind off of everything, get her far away from the house and just enjoy the time together.
  • Perfume - Now that its finally spring and the warm weather is on the way I think a new perfume can really brighten someones mood up as well. Since your mom has been wearing the same perfumes for the winter time how about getting her something light, fresh and flowery to bring her some sunshine into her days.
  • Picture Frame - Mothers love to see their children growing up so how about getting her a picture frame with a picture of you together. Also I think digital frames are a great idea as well because you can put a lot of pictures in one frame and its always nice because it changes all the time.
There are a ton of things that any mother would appreciate so anything you get her I'm sure she will absolutely love. In my opinion you don't have to spend lots of money for the gifts just give your mom lots of love and attention. Spend the whole day with her doing what she likes. Remember your mom will always love you no matter what so give her a special day as well.
I hope you are all doing well and until next time....

We never know the love of the parent until we become parents ourselves.

How to make a fitness resolution and stick with it

Hey everyone,
Spring has finally arrived and with the warm weather come our shorts, skirts and dresses. And lots of stress to how we will look in them. After all the delicious meals that we all had during the holidays I bet most of us have put on a little pound or two. It can get stressful to work out and stick to a goal so I wanted to share with you some easy ways to make your resolutions more enjoyable.
  1. Tell Someone The first step to making your resolution a reality is to share it with someone. Knowing that your friends and family will be asking you about your resolution will motivate you more.
  2. Buddy up Personality I don't like going to the gym alone, especially as a women it can get intimidating. Grab a girlfriend and head to the gym or outside and it will make the process much more fun. Also it will motivate you to push each other to keep going.
  3. Create a plan Making a dream a reality is much easier on paper. Plan your meals and activities and make them enjoyable. How about a run in the park with your puppy or loved one? Don't stick to just going to the boring gym, now that its warm out head outside and get some fresh air.
  4. Ask yourself "WHY" Figure out why you want to achieve these goals? Is it to improve your self-esteem or to reduce stress? Make your goals emotionally close to you and not just a hope or a must.
  5. Keep it real Keep your goals realistic to you, and start out small that way you can be happier with the results. Don't overwork yourself from the beginning, you need to be able to enjoy this and not make it be more work.
  6. Be flexible Don't punish yourself for cheating once in a while. You only live once so enjoy it, you can enjoy a couple of cookies just make sure to get back to your routine the next day.
  7. Reward yourself When you've been on your routine for  impressively long for your goals reward yourself. And make it something that you will really enjoy so you will have something to look forward to. Such as a manicure, massage or a night out in town.
Achieving your goals can be enjoyable and worth while. Work out not to loose weight, work out to make yourself feel better to look in the mirror and say that your beautiful and there is nobody else like you.

IF YOU HAVE A BIG ENOUGH WHY YOU WILL FIGURE OUT THE HOW.

xoxo, Kristina

Experience to Remember

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share my experience that I had today with you guys, and hopefully it will teach you and inspire you in some way. The weather was just completely horrible today, it was raining so much and I was having such a bad day and of course I was feeling very sorry for myself that I had this bad day. Well after a long horrible day I always go to see my mom that works in a beauty salon, the girl that she works for is a very dear friend of mine and I love her very much. Well when I got there she was having a bad day as well and the store was quiet so we got a chance to sit down and chat, and her father passed away recently and she was texting her sister about it and it really brought her down. Well while all this is going on the client are coming and going and my friend is such a sweet wonderful human being, she's always happy and cheerful, she always has a smile on her face and she's just such a joy to be around.
As we are both having this horrible day we never knew that our day is about to get so much worse.
My friend is an aesthetician at the salon that she owns so of course she's servicing client as we are trying to catch up. Well the salon got quiet and this girl came in. Long story short the girl stole my friend's cell phone and my friend started crying in front of her looking for her phone because she had pictures of her father in there and the girl that stole it just said bye and left. I was over seeing all of this happened and I was just in shock that this girl that we both know would just leave like that when my good friend is crying. My wonderful friend would never say anything bad about anyone she really believes in karma and all she wishes is good on people.
Before we started accusing anyone we checked the cameras to make sure that we got the right girl. We called her and she was straight up lying to us saying she has the same phone. Then we told her that we do have everything happened in camera and she came clean and said she's on her way to give it back.
When she came back she didn't have the courage to go back inside the salon and my friend had to go outside to get her cell phone. The girl apologized and hugged my friend and said if she had known that it was her phone she would never take it.

That experience was so shocking to me how people will steal right in front of your face! It was so upsetting to see my friend cry about this because people like that girl are really not worth any of these tears. Thank god that my friend got her phone because those pictures of her father were so precious to her. Its the last thing that she has of her father and it was so sad to see that taken away from her so quickly.
Please, please guys be a good, kind person. Karma is so important, if you send a little happiness into the world it will always come back to you. We need more amazing people in this world. People that are happy and joyful and that are just full of life. I hope no one will ever have to go through any sadness in their lives. And if we do see someone having a bad day I hope we can encourage them and bring some sunshine into their life.
Please, please guys be kind to one another and love each other no matter what. We need to all stick together and try to create a happier world because if people can steal from friends What has this world come to?
I hope that your day will be filled with happiness, joy and love. Try to make every experience a good experience. No matter what happens you are not alone, if you need a word of encouragement please message me and I will help you through it. I want to help each and every one of you get through anything you're going through.

Top 10 Must Have Clothing March 2011

Hey everyone,
Today I was watching some fashion videos on youtube and I was inspired to share some of my own must have clothing pieces at the moment. We all have a habit of going out and shopping for cute things that just catch our eye but most of the time we just end up wearing it once or twice. I know that for myself I always reach for the same things. Of course it's fun to go shopping and picking out cute new pieces to add to your closet but lets be realistic I bet we can all admit that most of the time we just buy things without thinking it over because it just looks so cute.

1. Jacket
The thing that I reach for the most now would be my jacket. Its still really cold where I live so I can't leave the house without it. Depending on your personal style you have different choices in jackets. I personally like a long pea coat or a short leather jacket. I don't like to have a lot of different colours in a similar jacket, I tend to buy a colour that will go with everything. You can dress a pea coat up or dress it down, it really goes with everything and it looks very stylish. I also like to wear a leather jacket on warmer days when i just want to look comfy but stylish at the same time. Or i wear my leather jacket when I'm going out with some high boots and dark wash jeans.

2. Clutch
I've never been a fan of wallets, I don't know why i just like a clutch better. You can throw some cards in there a chapstick and you're ready for a night out or to just put it in your bag and run out the door. I like to have a clutch as a staple piece. There are so many to choose from now and they are so comfortable. When your going out at night you don't want to bring your whole bag you can just grab this and it will look cute with any outfit.

3. Purse
My next thing would have to be a purse. As much as I love my clutch, I still really love big bags as well. I think a nice purse should be in every ones closet. It can really add something to an outfit. And in my opinion its better to have one nice expensive purse than a lot of cheap ones that can break. Lets face it when your purse starts ripping it kind bugs you the whole day every time you look at it. So a purse would definitely be my must have.

4. Flat Boots
Another good thing to have in your wardrobe would be flat boots. Its still snowy where I live and its starting to rain so a nice pair of flat boots will be very useful now a days. I do love Ugg boots but I just don't want to wear them in the rain I think they will get ruined. I also like boots that are a little higher because you can tuck your jeans into them, especially in rainy weather no one wants the back of their jeans to be wet. Flat boots are so comfy to walk in, even if you have a long day shoes really make a huge difference.
5. High Heel Booties
As much as I love flat shoes and they are so comfy to walk in, I still like to dress up my outfits with high heels. Especially when you had a long week and you want to go out and look good and have fun I think high heels give you that little bit of confidence and when you look in the mirror they make you feel prettier. I'm also short I'm only 5'3 so when I wear high heels it really gives my legs a little more length and they make me feel more put together. I like high heel booties because you really can dress them up or down. You can just pair them with a pair of jeans for that little something or you can wear them with a cute dress.

6. Black Dress
We all heard the stories of the little black dress, but it really is true. Have you ever gotten a call from a girlfriend saying your going out and to dress up? Right away you think that you don't know what to wear? Well the black dress will go with any occasion you're going to. It has to be a staple piece in every girls wardrobe. You can add lots of different looks to the plain black dress. You can add a belt to it or a little scarf. Also accessories, accessories, accessories... need I say more? If its a formal event add a little pearls and more earrings and you already look like a million bucks.

7. Scarves
Next things that I've been obsessed with lately are scarves. There are a million to choose from, any shape colour or style. A scarf can dress up any outfit and its an early way to add some colour to your clothing. I tend to dress more in neutral colours in the winter but I can always count on my scarves to add a little something to my outfit.

8. Plain Tank Top
Another thing that I reach for the most are just plain tank tops. They are great on their own or just to wear under a sweater to keep warm. I also really like a plain black or white tank under a blazer, I think it looks really classic. Again a tank top can be dressed up or down. If you wear it under a blazer with some accessories, it can look really good or just if your dressing it up with some jeans.

9. Black Blazer
Another favourite of mine would definitely has to be a plain black blazer. Don't get me wrong I think any colour blazer is nice but I think that a black blazer would be much more practical. Where I'm living now all the girls in high school and college are wearing sweaters from TNA & Lululemon which there is nothing wrong with I have a ton of them myself but I just think that a blazer really makes you more put together. You can dress a blazer up on top of a dress or with some dark wash dress and high boots or you can dress it down just wearing in on top of ripped jeans with some sneakers.

10. Dark Jeans
Last but not least would have to be my dark wash jeans. At the moment i really like skinny jeans tucked into boots or just a straight cut jeans over some heels. Dark wash jeans are a must have at the moment, they really go with everything and look nicer in this weather than light colour jeans.

I hope you all enjoyed my 10 Must haves at the moment. I would love to hear what your must haves are and until next time...

Don't let the clothes wear you, always let your personality shine through.

Richtree Restaurant

Hey everyone,
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I want to do another review of a restaurant that I've been to a couple of times now. If that doesn't give it away already I've been there more than once because I obviously liked it. The restaurant is called Richtree or Marche, the whole idea behind it is that they have different stations of food and you can walk around and pick and choose what you want to eat. They have everything from desserts,tea/juice, pasta, salads, sushi, vegetables to seafood. Basically anything you're in the mood for you will most likely find it there.

The first time that I visited Richtree at the Brookfield Place and I absolutely loved it, I went there with a family that Im very close to and they brought their kids. We went there for brunch and the kids had so much fun. Back then Richtree was decorated in my opinion looking like a market with lots of food stations and then where you sit it was a very outdoor feel with leaves and trees and looked very beautiful. That first time I had their waffle with strawberries and ice cream and it was absolutely delicious. The waffle was hot because they make it in front of you and the strawberries were very fresh and it was a huge portion I couldn't finish the whole thing. I loved the whole feel of the restaurant and the food was great so need less to say I had to go back.
Another time that I visited Richtree I was at the Promenade mall location. The whole feel of the restaurant wasn't the same. It was very small and modern. I loved the idea of the market the first time i visited richtree and this one wasn't as interesting. I also had a waffle at this location and sadly to say it wasn't as good as at the other location.
I visited the Brookfield Place Richtree a couple of times after that, and every time it was very good. They changed the look of the sitting down area to more modern style but the food stations are still in the market look. If I had to choose I would definitely pick this as my top pick for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I hope you enjoyed everything I had for you, if you have any other questions please leave them below.
Until next time,

How to make your room cozy and inviting

Hello beauty,
I recently moved and had a chance to decorate my room all over again. In my old room I didn't have a lot of space and it really didn't feel like it was very cozy to me. Now that I'm in my new room typing this blog it really feels like home to me. I really love Paris, even though I've never had a chance to visit it (yet) I'm really fascinated with their design. Therefore my new theme for my room is Paris. Getting back on the subject my room is really cozy now. In my opinion curtains make a huge difference in the room.
My curtains look similar to these in the picture but they have more gold colour to them. My room is so much warmer now! They totally tied everything together and made my room look so finished. So the first step to making a room look cozy would be curtains.
Also I think that a rug makes a big difference as well, especially when you wake up. Nobody wants to put their warm feet on a cold floor.
Now for the fun stuff to make your room more inviting..
I LOVE CANDLES
I love the way their make the room look when they are on, everything looks so romantic and warm and smells delicious. I've had candles from all over the place but my favourite ones are from bath and body works. My favourite is the Pineapple and mango which spells absolutely delicious. My new found obsession is the Juicy Nectarine candle. It smells exactly like nectarines and its a very fruity smell. Even when i just leave my candle open my room still smells so wonderful.
Also I've been obsessed with a scent from Fruits & Passion which is called Green tea and Orchid.
I love their packaging and the scent smells so light and fresh.

How to make your room cozy and inviting:

  • Curtains
  • Rug
  • Room colour
  • Candles
  • A little bit of fairy dust... =)
Until next time,

A walk in Yorkdale mall

Hello my darlings,
Thank you for visiting my blog (which I don't update very often, sorry). I get these rushes where all I want to do is update my blog the whole day and then I feel like i have nothing to write about for months later. I finally got to see my lovely friend Stephanie which I haven't seen in months. It's so nice to spend time with girlfriends especially when you want to go to the mall and do girly things. She was on reading week so we decided that we should go to downtown one day but its been so cold out lately that we just decided to go to the mall instead. The day that we were going it was so yucky out in the morning it starting snowing a little bit and it was very windy so we were glad that we were going to be inside for a little while. When we got to Yorkdale it was pretty quiet which was nice we could walk around and take our time. Of course we had to start off with getting some Starbucks drinks which is always a great way to start the day.
Its very sad that they are changing the label, i really like the label that they have now its nice and simple. Afterwards we walked around Indigo for a little bit which I love they always have cute little accessories that you can't find anywhere else. Afterwards we walked around the mall and went to Holt Renfrew which is always fun to be in. It was early in the morning when i left the house so i didn't have time to do my make up and Stephanie had just a little bit of make up on which was perfect, we got little make overs! I think it's so awesome when your felling yucky and ugly and you walk in and a girl completely gives you a make over to make you look marvellous.
We were walking by the YSL counter and the beautiful girl there asked if we wanted quick make overs and of course we said yes. This girl was so nice and sweet and new exactly what she was doing. She gave me such a beautiful make over that made me look like a doll. Stephanie was getting a make over from this gorgeous girl that had the nicest accent. She was from England..obviously they have the coolest accents there. She gave Stephanie such a beautiful make over as well. We were on cloud 9 it was so nice to feel so pretty after.
I've heard a lot about YSL products but I never actually bought anything from there. I really liked the lip combo that she used on me so I purchased it, it was a pretty pink colour and a lipliner to match it. You only need a little bit on this lipstick, it really goes a long way. I cant even put it from the tube because it goes on very barbie pink, I just put a little bit on with a lip brush. This lipstick is interesting because it goes on as a normal lipstick and then it dries a little and last a couple of hours so its very long lasting. The lipstick that I bought has a matte finish which is nice because I dont like shimmer but if I ever wanted I can just put lipstick over it.
YSL Yves Saint Laurent

        Pros:
  • The packaging is so beautiful, you just feel so fancy having it in your purse
  • They have beautiful colours that are very pigmented
  • They really are long lasting, without that dry feeling that most long lasting lipsticks give you.
  • They are very smooth in texture, they glide on smoothly and look very nice on their own or with lip gloss.
        Cons:
  • I personally can't put it on from a tube or if I do I can only use a tiny bit with the colour that i chose. If it was a nude colour though you can totally put it on from the tube and everything will be great.
After our little make overs we just walked around the mall and got some macaroons from Godiva and a Paris Vogue which I've been looking for everywhere.
All in all, days with girlfriends are so much fun. I forgot how much I missed her until we had a great time that i didn't want her to leave. If you're ever looking for things to do with a girlfriend definitely go get little make overs from Holt Renfrew the girls are so wonderful there.
Until next time,

Weekend at Yorkville

Hello my darlings,
I've been gone for a little bit because of school. Going back after two years off is a little bit of a kick in the ass with all the homework and actually having to be in class. Also on top of school my parents and I are still renovating the house, we put up curtains a couple of days ago in my room and it looks so cozy and romantic now. Back to the original point that I wanted to write about. My weekends have been very boring lately I've been home a lot spending time with the family and not really going out much but I was looking online a couple of months ago and i found this nice place called Moroco Chocolate Restaurant. I've walked by it before but didn't really wonder whats inside but the outside looked very cute. Finally after trying to get to it for the last month I finally went and it was really nice. This weekend was also the Icefest in Yorkville.

The sculptures were all so beautiful, we arrived there around 4 so we didn't get to see most of them being made. We saw one guy working on a sculpture of a monkey which sadly i didn't get a picture of but the detail in it was so beautiful. After walking around for a little bit we walked into a couple of small shops which were so unique, they were so much better than the ones i have around here. Afterwards we finally went to Moroco because i just couldn't wait I was eyeing it every time we would walk by.

The outside was so gorgeous, when you walk in there is a small shop where they sell all the chocolate and stuff that they make. The shop was very bright and organized it looked very fancy. When you walk through it, you get to the restaurant space which was dark and romantic. Its a nice place to stop by for a quick tea and some sweets. Unfortunately it was very busy and loud, which is maybe because we went on a saturday night. We got some fondue with fruits and milk chocolate (which was so yummy) and we got some tea. The tables were very close together and we couldn't really hear each other when talking which was a down side. It was a gorgeous place but I didn't think it lived up to my hype. I really wanted to try their macaroons but they didn't have any on their menu, they had an original one and that was it.
After enjoying their tea and chocolate we went back to the shop section and got some macaroons to go.

I love the different colours that they have and they look so different compared to any other desert that I've even had. They tasted really light and kind of like a cookie but much lighter. My favourite flavour was pistachio and i also liked the vanilla one. All in all, the place was beautiful to look at but I would much rather go there on a quiet day in the summer for a quick break while walking in yorkville.
Thats all I have to review Moroco Chocolate Restaurant. I hope you enjoyed it and until next time.
